2018 WBE Spring Show Highlights

By  |

The recent snow storms didn’t deter the regions brides and grooms from visiting our 2018 Spring Show on the 4th March 2018.

It is always overwhelming to welcome and see how many visitors share and value our vision and passion regarding catering for all brides and grooms regardless to their budget and backgrounds.

This year is extra special as it marks our 5th Anniversary from when our Co-Founders Charlotte and Iram organised the 1st ever World Bridal Event. To mark this special year, we created two awards to honour our exhibitors. One for the Best Creative Stand and one for the Best Fusion Stand.

The following winners were announced on stage during our extravagant catwalk shows to highlight their hard work and creativeness.

The Best Creative Stand award went to CST Flowers – Their artificial blossom trees really took centre stage on the 1st aisle of the exhibition and transformed the room completely.

The Best Fusion Stand went to Anisha’s Collection – We felt that their stand showed multiculturalism at its best by showcasing stunning dresses in array of colours and designs perfect for any wedding. The catered for all cultures, perfectly.

We always welcome feedback from visitors and exhibitors and here is what some had to say of their experience …

“Exhibitors were really friendly and didn’t pounce on you or look at you crazed when you tell them you haven’t got a date fixed! The tasters that were available were good. The overall day was really good. The goody bag was the best one I’d received! Yours was the second show/fayre I’d been to. Lots to think about, so thank you for hosting xx ” (Henna Mistry)

One of our exhibitors, Smileomatic Photobooths left this feedback:

We attended a wedding fayre last week at the Macron Stadium with Fusion Bride and The World Bridal Event. We have attended a few wedding fayres in our time, but we really enjoyed this one. We were right next to the catwalk for one. The catwalk was awesome, loads of amazing suits and dresses. Loved how professional the models were. The suits from Sherwani King were like nothing I had ever seen. I will be taking my husband for sure to be suited and booted!”

They went on to say: “We learnt so much about Fusion too and the amazing colour that can be added to weddings! We loved it!”

Our famous Designer Catwalk shows never fail to disappoint and this year we were delighted to have exciting performances by D n S Dholis alongside the multi award winning SonAash Sisters – it was wonderful to have them both return onto our stage and we always love watching their energetic and wonderful arts.

We were also thrilled to be working with Nafisa Sultan of Sultan Bridal who we first met at our Yorkshire show which took place in January 2015 – we found Nafisa to be an inspiring, professional and above all, a very beautiful person inside and out. Sultan Bridal was the Catwalk Sponsor with Nafisa styling the models backstage on the day too!

On stage we saw stunning gowns by Naama & Anat, Mon Cheri & Enzoani courtesy of Ivory Promise who also offers great deals throughout the year so depending on your budget – you too can have the dress of your dreams!

For the third year running, multiple award winning, Sherwani King took to the stage, this time launching their suit & tuxedo collection, whilst also specialising in bespoke Sherwanis, Waistcoats, Kurtas and Children’s Sherwanis.

Also, for the men, we had Slaters Menswear from Bolton showcasing their 2018/2019 collection of hire wear for grooms and groomsmen. Slaters have something for every boy and man; their range includes three-piece wedding suits, tweed wedding suits, boys and page boy suits.

Representing the Asian and Fusion bride, we welcomed for the first time Anisha’s Collection of Blackburn which is a thriving company. They pride themselves in designing, manufacturing and importing ravishing hand embroidered fabrics, which are used by their customers to create Haute Couture garments such as bridal wear, wedding wear, evening wear, sari’s and kaftan’s.
